1. Introduction

The HDD Backup Utility is software for backing up and restoring 
storage media installed on multifunctional products.

2. System Requirements
 
System Requirements
Computer:
    PC-AT compatible machine
CPU:
    Same as specified for your operating system.
Memory (RAM):
    Same as specified for your operating system.
Hard Disk:
    20 MB of available hard-disk space
Display:
    800 x 600 pixels or higher
Supported operating systems:
    Please refer to attached "Appendix1_OS_SupportInfo.txt".
    - Please use the latest version of each operating systems.
    - There may be notes/restrictions depending on your operating systems. 
      Please refer to "6. Notes and Restrictions" for additional information.
Network Environment:
    TCP/IP protocol should be set up correctly. 
Web browser:
    Microsoft Internet Explorer
      The latest version supported by each OS.
Other requirements:
    Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (SP1 or later) and .NET Framework 4.5 or later*
    *Both versions of .NET Framework are required.
     The version of .NET Framework that is installed to your computer
     can be checked from Control Panel.
     For more information about installing (or enabling) .NET Framework, 
     please refer to the User’s Guide or the Microsoft website.

5. Checking the Version in the Application

When "Version Information" is selected from the "Help" menu, an information dialog box appears.

6. Notes and Restrictions

- When the SSL Encryption Strength of the device is set to "AES-256",
  Windows XP cannot connect to the device. When using Windows XP,
  change the encryption strength setting of the device to other than
 "AES-256".
- When SSL certificate of a device is created in DSA type, 
  connection to the device may not be performed successfully. 
  In such case, create a certificate in RSA type.
- If the restore was stopped, it will not be complete and must be repeated.
- When the version is upgraded from V1.1 to V.1.2,
  the report file storage location is not transferred into the new version.
- It may take some time to launch the application. In such a case, please perform
  the following steps.
  1) Launch Internet Explorer
  2) Open Internet Option under tools menu.
  3) Open Advanced tab and turn off the following setting.
     "Check for server certificate revocation"
- When "User Account Control: Only elevate executables that are signed and validated" 
  is enabled at Local Security Policy of Windows Vista, it is not possible to uninstall 
  program by using "Programs and Features" of Control Panel.
  To uninstall program, disable "User Account Control: Only elevate executables that are 
  signed and validated" at Local Security Policy of Windows Vista, or use "setup.exe" 
  which is used at installation of program. 
- HDD Image Backup is not possible to a device that supports Box Backup.
- The products described in "2. System Requirements" and 
  "3. Supported Devices" may not be available or the product
   names may differ in some countries and regions.
- The version below of the firmware of the product that connects to this application must be used. 
  For information on the firmware version of your product and upgrades, 
  contact a service center or the dealer where you purchased the MFP product.
