1. Introduction

The Driver Packaging Utility allows you to create an 
installation package that uses different settings to those used at 
the time of printer driver installation.

The following tools are included.

- KONICA MINOLTA Driver Package Manager Version 2.8 - 2.8.00200

  The Driver Package Manager is a Utility used to manage the installation 
  package created by the Driver Packaging Utility.
  It works in conjunction with the Driver Packaging Utility.

4. Install / uninstall guide

This utility does not require installation or uninstallation.

5. Version confirmation in the application.

You can check the version from a running application with the 
following procedure.

 1. From the [Help] menu, select [About...] to display the 
    information dialog.
 2. This dialog displays the version information.

6. Restrictions / known limitations

 6-1. Restrictions
  - When saving the package and overwriting other files, a folder 
    name appended with ".bak" is saved within the DPU folder.
    This folder cannot be deleted from the [Delete Package] menu of 
    this utility.
    Please delete it from Explorer.

  - When saving package fails, a folder name appended with ".err" 
    is saved within the DPU folder. 
    This folder cannot be deleted from the [Delete Package] menu of 
    this utility.
    Please delete it from Explorer.

  - When Windows settings for your computer are as follows: 
    "Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy > 
    Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options > 
    Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console 
    logon only" is Enabled, then in the [Save Package] Dialog, 
    if [Switch to the following user when executing the package] is 
    selected and the [Password] is left blank, package execution 
    may fail.

  - The individual settings file is in CSV format. If the last line 
    of the file is not completed properly with a line-feed, an 
    error may be occur.
    Please enter a line-feed at the end of the last line of the 
    file.

  - When you copy the driver to the hard disk etc., if the folder
    name such as a "Driver"folder which is an upper folder of the
    Setup.exe file of the installer is changed on Windows Vista,
    the device may not be detected on the [Select Printer/MFP to
    Install] screen of the installer automatically.
    Please do not modify the "Driver"folder's name to detect the
    device automatically.

  - Please input the comment of the printer within 127 characters
    to set the [Add Printer].

  - Please input the printer name within 40 characters to set the
    [Add Printer].

  - It is necessary to satisfy the following conditions in order
    to register [Add Printer], [Update Driver] and [Delete Driver]
    with [List of Operation].
    - The same name as the printer which will be registered to
      [List of Operation] is not registered.
    - The same driver as the driver which will be registered to
      [List of Operation] is not registered.

  - In the Windows Vista operates on the 64bit PC, when the package
    is unpacked to the same PC without restarting after the package
    is created by Driver Package Utility, the following functions
    dose'nt operate correctly.
    - [Add Printer]/[Preference]/[Copy from this Printer]
    - [Add Printer]/[Preference]/[Copy from specified file]
    Please unpack the package after rebooting PC in order to use
    these functions.

  - Following items can be set in the driver from the package created
    using Driver Package Utility.
    - Items that can be reflected in [Favorite Setting]
    - [Excel Job Control] in [Other] tab
    - Items set in [Individual Settings File]

  - The products described in "2. System Requirements" and 
    "3. Supported printer drivers" may not be available or 
    the product names may differ in some countries and regions.

  - Models that can create a setup file with 
    [File] - [Create Universal Printer Driver Setup File] are 
    supported by Universal Print Driver Version 3.2.0.0.

7. Individual Settings File

The individual settings file is written using the CSV format.
Rows beginning with "#" are comment rows.
The first non-comment row is the header row. The "user_name" column 
in the header row indicates the user name. Otherwise, columns are 
named for individual settings.
Enter the name of each user executing the package and the 
corresponding settings on each row following the header row.

     NormalPrint     -> [Print]
     SecurePrint     -> [Secure Print]
     SaveBox         -> [Save in User Box]
     SaveBoxAndPrint -> [Save in User Box/Print]
     ProofAndPrint   -> [Proof Print]
     TouchAndPrint   -> [ID&Print]

  [UseDefaultLoginUserName]
    When specifying "Windows Login ID" as the key word, it will be set to
    [Recipient User] - [User Name] as the default value.

     Enable     -> "Windows Login ID"
                   - Specifying [KMUserName] becomes invalid.

  [Fix_ChkFixUserName]
    When specifying either one of the keywords listed below, 
    the value according to the keyword will be set and will not be allowed 
    to change.

     ON   -> [Do not allow changes to the [User Name]] = ON
     OFF  -> [Do not allow changes to the [User Name]] = OFF

  [Fix_ChkFixPassword]
    When specifying either one of the keywords listed below, 
    the value according to the keyword will be set and will not be allowed 
    to change.

     ON   -> [Do not allow changes to the [Password]] = ON
     OFF  -> [Do not allow changes to the [Password]] = OFF

  [Fix_FIXSecurePrint]
    When specifying either one of the keywords listed below, 
    the value according to the keyword will be set and will not be allowed 
    to change.

     ON   -> [Secure Print only] = ON
     OFF  -> [Secure Print only] = OFF

  [PublicUser]
    When specifying either one of keywords listed below, the value according 
    to the keyword will be set to [User Authentication] as a default.

     PublicUser    -> [Public User]
     RecipientUser -> [Recipient User]

  [InterimPublicUser]
    When specifying either one of keywords listed below, the value according 
    to the keyword will be set to 
    [Enhanced Authentication Server Settings] - [Public User].

     InterimPublicUserON  -> [Public User] = ON
     InterimPublicUserOFF -> [Public User] = OFF

  [AuthUseEngine]
    When specifying either one of keywords listed below, the value according 
    to the keyword will be set to [MFP Authentication] as a default.

     ON   -> [MFP Authentication] = ON
     OFF  -> [MFP Authentication] = OFF

8. Package Creation File

  8-1. Introduction
    Package Creation File is in CSV format.
　　  Rows beginning with "#" are comment rows.
    The first non-comment row is the header row. 
    Otherwise, columns are named for each external input.
    Enter the settings of new package configured in the Add Printer operation on each row following the header row.  
 
  8-2. About Report File
    On [Batch creation of Multiple Packages], Report file (dpu_import_report.txt) is created in the same directory of input file.
    During [Batch creation of Multiple Packages], please check the report file.
    * Input error details, notification regarding update of existing package, etc. are output in the Report file.

  8-3. Restrictions
    ・Do not enclose each setting in double quotes.
    ・Setting should not contain ",". If "," is included in the setting, the operation is not secured.
    ・Make sure to add a new line at the last row of file.
    ・Save file in the character code (Japan: Shift_JIS) that corresponds to the system location of OS.
    ・When describing 2 or more additional operations in 1 Package, setting of same package should be described continuously.
    ・If same name package already exists in the package creation path, it is overwritten after taking a backup.

    Set contents : Destination folder to save the Package is set.
      
     0     -> [Common Folder]
     1     -> [Individual Folder]

  [2. Package Name]
    Item name   : PackageName
    Set contents : File name to save the created package is set.
                     Enter within 50byte.

  [3. Package Comment]
    Item name   : PackageComment
    Set contents : Package comment is set.
                     Enter within 127byte.

  [4. Interactive Installation Option]
    Item name   : InstallSetting
    Set contents : During the installation of the Driver package, Interactive installation options can be set as.

        0     -> [Display]
        1     -> [Do not display]
        2     -> [Display only Start/End result]

  [5. Change user at the time of Package execution]
    Item name   : ChangeUser
    Set contents : Whether or not to change the specified user at the time of package execution is set.

        0     -> [Do not change user]
        1     -> [Change user]

  [6. User Name]
    Item name   : UserName
    Set contents : User name to be changed at the time of package execution is set.
	                 Enter within 20 bytes.

  [7. Password]
    Item name   : PassWord
    Set contents : User Password to be changed at the time of package execution is set.
                     Enter within 30 bytes.

  [8. Domain Name]
    Item name   : DomainName
    Set contents : User domain name to be changed at the time of package execution is set.
                     Enter within  64 bytes.

  [9.  Package log path]
    Item name   : LogPath
    Set contents : Destination to save log at the time of package execution is set.
                     When save path is not set, it will be saved in the same folder where the package file was executed.

  [10. Printer Name]
    Item name   : PrinterName
    Set contents : Name of Printer to be added is set.
                     Enter within 40 bytes.

  [11. Printer Comment]
    Item name   : PrinterComment
    Set contents : Comment of printer to be added is set.
                     Enter within 127 bytes.

  [12. Default Printer Settings]
    Item name   : DefaultPrinter
    Set contents : Whether or not to set the printer to be added as Default Printer is set.
    
        0     -> [Do not set Default Printer]
        1     -> [Set Default Printer]

  [13. Do not add if a printer with specified name exists.]
    Item name   : StrictPrinter
    Set contents : When a Printer exists with the same name of specified printer, do not add a new printer.
