Customizing Grub2Win boot modules

Customization of the Grub2Win boot modules

The Grub2Win module loaded at boot time by your machine depends on the type of firmware your machine is running:

For machines with BIOS firmware, the boot module is loaded from the C:\grub2\g2bootmgr directory. The module name is grub2win.boot.bios

For machines with 64 Bit EFI firmware, the boot module is loaded from the \efi\grub2win directory. The module name is grub2win.boot64.efi

For machines with 32 Bit EFI firmware, the boot module is loaded from the \efi\grub2win directory. The module name is grub2win.boot32.efi

The Grub2Win modules supplied in C:\grub2\g2bootmgr should work in nearly every environment. However, if you wish to make custom changes to the  modules, you can customize them. The customization procedure is run under Windows as a .bat script

           Warning!!

Customizing the boot modules should only be attempted if you have a specific need.

It is possible to render your system unbootable. Please be sure you have good backups.

The customization package can be obtained by unzipping C:\grub2\winsource\xxgrub2gen.zip

Then unzipped grub2gen directory contains a ReadMe.txt file with full instructions.
